Alejandro is a member of Denver's community who heard about The Wayfaring Band, and knew that he had to be a part of it! He joined The Band on their road trip to Wyoming in May of 2022 as an artist-in-residence, and was overwhelmed with gratitude for the genuineness, kindness, and new friendships that he experienced. Alejandro plays guitar and bass as a hobby, so naturally, it occurred to him that he could record something for his ode to the trip. Alejandro, with the theme of friendship rooted firmly in his memories, decided to record a cover of The Fab Four's, With A Little Help From My Friends. The only problem for Alejandro was that he could play guitar and sing separately, but not all at once. He decided that, in accordance with the themes of growth and resiliency that are inherent in The Band's travels, he would push himself to learn to play both the guitar and vocal part at the same time, and learn how to record. This effort was a labor of love for Alejandro, who sang, played guitar, and bass on the recording. This cover song is used as background music for a slideshow presentation with photos of, and notable quotes written down from the trip. Alejandro learned, from this experience, that life is a lot easier- and more fun- with a little help from our friends!
